Saturday Night Studio II

May 24, 2015 by Paqueenie 1 Comment

Saturday Night Studio II Inspired by the amazing images of #polasquare, I set off to my studio this evening to see if I could accomplish something that made me happy. After a crash course in Polaroid250 tweaks, I dragged out my one monolight. For someone who shoots at least 100mm in 35mm and natural light at f/2.8, working out how to frame a 40mm equivalent and expose it for ISO100 and f8.8 was a challenge. I also wanted there to be dimension - not just a blast from the strobe. Much metering and checking with my 5D. I metered for f/9 with the main light, and put my Neewer flash in a Rogue Flashbender stripbox as a kicker for the hanging frame. I have cheap Cowboy Studio triggers, and was able to sync wirelessly, with the shoe flash set on slave. Worked like a charm. Three hours later, I had shot five polaroids and each one worked. Now that I've worked out some logistics, I can't wait to shoot some people. I LOVE this camera.
